Inland

In the other provinces, bunkers were mainly concentrated in the Utrecht province. The inland area consisted of 4 Stützpunktgruppen. The region still holds some interesting bunkers and complexes. In our opinion they are unique in Holland and in some cases, unique to the rest of Europe. This is type SK in Hilversum, build twice within the headquarters of the Wehrmachtsbefehlshaber in den Niederlanden, type SK in Utrecht (former H.Q. W.Bfh.Niederlanden) and type SK in Bilthoven, build twice within the headquarters of the German 88^th Army Corps. This bunker village near Bilderdijklaan, along with the bunker complex near Beethovenlaan and Soestdijkseweg (De Bilt), contain a high concentration of bunkers which makes it interesting as a whole. The defence line running from The IJsselmeer to the city of Veenendaal, deserve special attention because it contains several bunkers of late type 703. Type L 487 “Cesar” in Driebergen and the special construction ”Diogenes” at Fliegerhorst Deelen are not to be missed.
